Our Approach to Treating Pain

At Tri State Hand and Occupational Therapy, the latest information and cutting-edge technology are an integral part of our arsenal for alleviating pain. Making people well again is the primary goal of Tri State Hand and Occupational Therapy’s founder, Bryan Wodaski, MS OTR/L, CHT and his staff. Far more than just hand therapy—Tri State Hand offers a full featured occupational therapy center ready to take care of complicated rehabilitative challenges. Each step of treatment embodies Bryan’s innovative approach concerning the physical rehabilitative process.

We know the importance of listening to our clients, so our treatment philosophy begins with scheduling individual time with you. Listening to you is the best way to fully understand and uncover your source of pain. We are then able to render the complete picture of your condition which enables us to plan and implement the correct treatment for you. This highly personal approach is at the core of what makes us so successful and effective in the treatment of maladies ranging from traumatic injury brought on by auto accidents to work-related repetitive motion injuries.

We specialize in treatment of Cumulative Trauma and Compressive Neuropathies—primarily in the upper extremities. Some of the conditions we treat include:
  • Neck problems due to injury, arthritis, disc problems, etc.
  • Shoulder problems including rotator cuff injuries, tendonitis, thoracic outlet syndrome, arthritis, etc.
  • Elbow problems such as tennis or golfer’s elbow
  • Hand/Wrist injuries including carpal tunnel syndrome, finger problems, arthritis, dislocations, etc.

Our treatment methods utilize traditional options such as electrical stimulation and custom bracing solutions. We also employ more progressive treatments (we avoid the "no pain, no gain" treatment philosophy) for pain with proven results including:
  • Stretching
  • Yoga exercises
  • Hands-on joint mobilization
Bryan Wodaski is a certified hand therapist servicing the Western Maryland and nearby West Virginia and Pennsylvania regions. We also offer work rehabilitation and functional capacity evaluations.
